Avadian Foundation Pillar: Financial Education

We believe that financial literacy is essential to economic mobility – and that a lack of financial understanding damages one’s prospects for long-term success. And as a community outreach arm of a credit union, financial education is a natural area of focus for the Foundation.

We have awarded grants to the following organizations working in financial literacy:

Junior Achievement believes in “possible.” They help young people discover what’s possible in their lives by helping them connect what they learn in school with life outside the classroom to show them it’s possible for tomorrow to be a better day.

The A.G. Gaston Boys and Girls Club serves children and teens in the Birmingham and Bessemer communities by tutoring, mentoring, and guiding them so they become productive, responsible, and caring citizens.
